Exam requirements:Students are required to be able to associate the quintessential terms of common law from the 1st and 2nd chapters of the German Civil Code (BGB), especially of the general part and the general law of obligation plus the special part of the law of obligation with an emphasis on purchase law. Students are further supposed to be able to legally classify circumstances of elementary cases, perceive legal problems therein as well as solve them by giving justifiable explanation.

Course contents:A. German Civil Code general part (BGB-AT): Introduction to civil law; excursion court assembly; science of legal transactions; legal representation; legal capacity/ minors; rescission; conditional and limited transactions, requirement of affirmation; limitation of claims.
B. Law of obligation (general part): performances within relation of obligations I and II, objections/ defences, unjust enrichment, tort, property law.
